One button, many advantages: the XT 700 ZThe new travel enduro from Japan is different, because unlike many current bikes on the market, the display only features a single button. It controls the ABS and thus it's the only electronic aide on the Ténéré 700. Traction control or performance modes have been deliberately avoided. With the XT 700 Z, Yamaha is focusing on proven, robust technology that wins you over on and off the road:
The heart of the bike is the powerful Crossplane CP2 twin-cylinder in-line engine, known as the MT-07. Classic spoke wheels measuring 21 inches at the front and 18 inches at the rear and a wheelbase of 1595 mm provide sufficient safety, even off-road. The 16-liter tank and the Ténéré 700's low weight of 204 kilograms at full tank allow journeys of up to 350 kilometers.
The bike, with its 875-millimeter seat height and a spring deflection of 210 mm at the front, is very comfortable thanks to its compact crotch arch. The XT 700 Z prefers to drive in dusty and rough terrain, making it perfect for trips to distant countries away from the well-known network of European roads.
Accessories from SW-MOTECH for the Yamaha Ténéré World Raid.
Many accessories of the Ténéré 700 fit also to the model Yamaha Ténéré World Raid. However, we had to make changes to some attachments: The World Raid model has two tank filler necks. Therefore, we have developed a bike-specific adapter for the PRO tank ring, which is screwed to the tank filler neck. We also built the crash bar for the World Raid model to fit the motorcycle.
Which tank bag is suitable for the Ténéré 700?
The removable tank lid requires the construction of a matching tank ring adapter. In such a case, both the PRO and ION tank ring will be able to be screwed onto it. Even when driving off-road, tank rings provide a secure hold for the PRO City with up to 14 liters of storage or the discreet ION one tank bag with 5 to 9 liters of storage. Other models such as the PRO Trial or the ION three will also work with the XT 700.
PRO side carrier for motorcycle cases and bags
Sturdy PRO side carriers made of 2.5 mm-thick steel are completely removable thanks to the proven QUICK-LOCK quick-release fasteners. They give the TRAX ADV aluminium case a secure hold on the Ténéré 700, with 37 liters on the right side and 45 liters on the left. Optionally, SysBags with adapter plates can also be attached to the side carriers. Adapter kits are also available for cases made by other manufacturers.
Adventure Rack - the rack for that big trip
An URBAN ABS or TRAX ADV top case can be attached to the sturdy ADVENTURE-RACK behind the seat of the XT 700 Z and the rack also offers a sufficiently large contact surface and enough lashing points for large waterproof tail bags such as the Drybag 350 or the Drybag 600. Material thickness, weight and geometry have been optimized for demanding tours and off-road use.
Crash bar: protection for the fairing and other components
The crash bar from SW-MOTECH gives the Ténéré 700 the necessary extra safety for the fairing and its components. With a tube diameter of 22 and 27 millimeters, these powder-coated steel elements have been specifically designed for the travel enduro and fit seamlessly into the look of the vehicle while at the same time offering optimal cornering clearance. The crash bars ensure reliable and easy installation onto original mounting points - modifications to the motorcycle are not required.
Additional protection for the engine against stone chips and ground contact:
A sturdy engine guard made of 4 millimeter thick, brushed aluminium sheet protects the powerful Crossplane two-cylinder of the Ténéré 700 from damage caused by flying rocks and debris when off-roading. State-of-the-art production give this model-specific engine guard made of high-quality aluminium alloy a secure fit without compromising ground clearance. The installation on frame mounting points lends additional stability and allows for easy installation.
GPS mount for safe orientation on the road
The sleek cockpit of the XT 700 provides plenty of space for attaching the shock-absorbent and removable GPS-mount above the monochrome LCD display. The GPS mount is pivotable for ideal view of the device and, thanks to the retaining plate with universal hole pattern, offers a secure hold for standard GPS models and Navi Case Pro gear bags or hardcases from SW-MOTECH.
