Bike-specific solutions for luggage, protection and ergonomics
BMW motorcycles cover a broad spectrum – from agile roadsters and sporty crossovers to comfortable touring bikes and GS models for travel beyond paved roads. SW-MOTECH develops bike-specific accessories that complement these different characters with precise fit, practical function and coherent design.
The BMW R 1250 GS combines everyday riding, long distances and travel beyond paved roads. Its successor, the BMW R 1300 GS, continues this versatility with a revised motorcycle concept and new mounting points. Model-specific side carriers form the basis for modular luggage systems. side cases, top cases and waterproof soft luggage make it possible to adapt the volume to the specific journey. A compact tank bag keeps frequently needed items close at hand.
As the route becomes more unpredictable, protection becomes more important. Model-specific crash bars protect exposed areas in the event of a fall, while an engine guard provides additional coverage from below. Hand protectors, crash pads and other protective parts complement the setup to suit the terrain and riding style.
The BMW S 1000 XR combines sporty performance with upright ergonomics and suitability for touring. Here the accessories should maintain the dynamic character. Discreet carriers, aerodynamic luggage and compact tank or tail bags create storage space without making the motorcycle appear unnecessarily bulky.
The ergonomics also make a noticeable difference on long stages. handlebar positioning, footrests, gearshift and foot brake levers enable adjustment to body position and desired control on selected BMW models. Model-specific holders and accessories for the power supply ensure that navigation devices remain securely positioned and ready for use.
Hard-shell cases and flexible soft luggage are available for BMW motorcycles. Aluminium cases are suitable for demanding trips where dimensional stability, lockable storage space and robust construction are important. Polycarbonate cases combine versatility with a modern look, while waterproof bags allow for lower weight and flexible loading. The right carrier creates the connection to the motorcycle - which is why the model and year of manufacture are always at the beginning of the selection.
A tail bag or tank bag is often sufficient for short journeys. On long tours, side luggage and top case can be combined, while smaller items remain within reach in the cockpit area. When traveling with two people, the seat and passenger footrests must remain free. Heavy objects should be as low and close to the center of the motorcycle as possible so that the handling remains balanced.
A GS may encounter gravel, rocks and falls at low speeds. With XR, R, RR, RT or Heritage models, the focus is more on subtle protection for road use. Crash bars, engine protection, axle protectors and model-specific components can be combined according to the exposed areas of the motorcycle.
The aim is not to equip every BMW motorcycle the same. The accessories are intended to support the task and personality of the respective model - from the compact roadster to the sporty, balanced S 1000 XR to the travel-friendly GS.
